The No. 25 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team fell to Iowa, 196.350-195.700, in a Big Ten meet on Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
The Huskers moved to 2-7 on the season (1-2 Big Ten), while Iowa improved to 2-3 (1-2 Big Ten).
Emma Spence claimed the bars title with a 9.900. Halle Rourke also grabbed the floor title with a 9.900, the second of her career. Isabel Sikon claimed a career high with a 9.850 on bars, and Halle Rourke (floor, 9.900) and Emma Simpton (bars, 9.850) each tied their career bests.
Rotation One
The Huskers opened the night on vault, notching a 48.800 as a team. Emma Spence led the way with a season-high 9.850. Isabel Sikon scored a 9.800, followed by Whitney Jencks (9.750) and Katie Kuenemann with a 9.725. Ayzhia Hall (9.675) and Sophia McClelland (9.550) finished the lineup.
Rotation Two
Spence posted a 9.900 on bars to lead NU to a 48.675 team score. Sikon earned a career-high 9.850, with McClelland and Emma Simpton both scoring a 9.825. Jencks (9.275) and Emalee Frost (9.250) rounded out the rotation.
Rotation Three
Nebraska scored a 48.975 on beam, led by McClelland who tied her season-high 9.875. Simpton followed with a 9.850 and Jencks notched a season-high 9.825. Sikon (9.775), Spence (9.650), and Hall (9.250) rounded out the lineup.
Rotation Four
The Big Red concluded the night on floor and scored a 49.250 as a team. Halle Rourke led the way tying her career high and setting a season high with a 9.900. Spence and Jencks both earned a 9.850, while McClelland and Homecillo both notched a 9.825. Reese Baechle ended the night with a 9.750.
