The Nebraska women’s golf team travels to Florida to compete in the Spring Break Shootout hosted by Western Kentucky in Dade City, March 17-18.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament at the Lake Jovita Golf Club tees off Monday with two rounds of continuous play beginning with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. (CT). The tournament concludes with Tuesday’s final round featuring another shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. (CT).
The Huskers will be part of a 13-team field that also includes Bradley, Daytona State, Florida Gulf Coast, Illinois, Jacksonville State, Memphis, New Mexico State, Seminole State, Stetson, St. John’s, Troy and the hosts from Western Kentucky.
Miu Takahashi leads a large contingent of eight Husker golfers competing in Florida. The senior from Nasu-machi, Japan owns a 75.24 stroke average this season while competing in all 21 rounds in the Nebraska lineup this season.
Danica Lundgren makes her fourth consecutive lineup appearance for the Huskers in Florida. The freshman from Austin, Texas, opened the spring in Orlando with a career-best 207 (-9) to tie for third at the PDI Intercollegiate - hosted by UCF (Feb. 2-4). She owns a 74.60 stroke average on the season.
Sophomore Arden Louchheim will play out of the No. 3 position in the lineup, followed by true freshman Eden Lohrbach in the No. 4 spot. Redshirt sophomore Symran Shah rounds out Nebraska’s top five at the Spring Break Shootout.
Sophomore Hannah Kono, redshirt sophomore Lauren Thiele and redshirt junior Brooke Bream are all scheduled to compete as individuals outside Nebraska’s lineup in Florida.
