Freshman Maddy Moyer competed in the individual air rifle competition at the 2025 NCAA Championships in Lexington, Ky. on Saturday. Moyer shot a score of 593, wrapping up two days of competition with an aggregate score of 1,169. Moyer placed 27th in the air rifle.
The championship slate on day two featured two relays with a total of 43 competitors. Moyer competed in the second relay of the day. Emma Rhode was listed as an alternate for the event.
“It was fun to watch Maddy take what she learned from smallbore yesterday and apply it to her match today,” Head Coach Richard Clark said. “She worked through the nerves and large stage of NCAAs very well for being a freshman. I am very excited to see what the next three years have in store for her.”
Rhode placed 11th in the smallbore, while Moyer placed 38th during Friday’s event.
Moyer wraps up an impressive freshman season with several top three finishes and personal bests. She took home two first-place finishes, one in the air rifle, and one in aggregate. Both came at Ohio State in the NCAA Qualifiers on Feb. 22.
