Jorgenson, Baxter Set for NCAA Championships

Gena Jorgenson and Abby Baxter will represent Nebraska at the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash., March 19-22. Events will take place at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.

Jorgenson, a junior from Aberdeen, S.D., qualified for the 1,650 and 500 freestyle events. She was also invited to participate in the 400 IM due to her dual qualification in the other events.

Jorgenson has logged yet another historic season for the Nebraska swimming and diving team with a school-record 500 free time of 4:39.31 at the Big Ten Championships. She recorded seven first-place finishes in the event this season, including five NCAA B cuts.

As a sophomore in 2024, Jorgenson secured the fastest time in NU history in the 1,650 free at the NCAA Championships with a time of 15:55.71 to earn first-team All-America honors.

At the Hawkeye Invitational this season, Jorgenson raced to a school-record 4:13.78 in the 400 IM. Jorgenson is one of just 281 swimmers from all NCAA Division I schools to earn a spot at nationals.

Baxter, a sophomore from Coppell, Texas, earned a spot at the 2025 NCAA Championships on the three-meter board with her ninth-place finish (324.70) at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championship.

Baxter has accumulated six top-five three-meter performances this season. She added an 18th-place finish on the event at the conference championships (271.35). Baxter is one of just 41 divers from all NCAA Division I schools to compete at this week's championships.

Coverage will begin on Wednesday, March 19 with the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay competitions at 5 p.m. (CT). The event can be streamed on ESPN+ each day.
