Williams Named First-Team All-District
Brice Williams received another honor Tuesday morning, as he was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Central District Team.
Williams was one of 10 players on the first team from a six-state region which includes Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
A 6-foot-7 senior guard from Huntersville, N.C., Williams is the first Husker to be an NABC first-team all-district pick since James Palmer Jr. in 2018. He enters the postseason averaging 20.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, as he ranks 19th nationally scoring and 15th in free throw percentage (.894). He finished the regular season in the top 15 in the Big Ten in several categories, including points per game (third), free throw percentage (third), free throws made per game (5.2, second), free throw attempts per game (5.8, sixth) and field goal percentage (.468, 15th). Williams has 17 20-point games, which ties for third in the Big Ten, including a school-record 43-point effort at Ohio State.
A first-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches, media and AP, Williams led the Big Ten in scoring in conference play at 20.7 ppg, becoming the first Husker since the 2013-14 season to top the conference in scoring during league play.
Williams and the Huskers will be in action later this month, competing in the College Basketball Crown in Las Vegas. Nebraska opens against Arizona State on Monday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. (CT). The game will be carried on FS1 and the Huskers Radio Network. Tickets for the Crown are available now at VividSeats.com.
