Lincoln, Neb.- The No.3 Nebraska men’s gymnastics team is hosting No.5 Michigan on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The matchup will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network and live stats are available here. Fans at the meet will receive a gymnastics Herbie T-shirt. After the meet concludes, head coach Chuck Chemelka will honor eight seniors and have an autographed poster giveaway.
Last Time Out
Nebraska narrowly lost to the Penn State Nittany Lions 329.050-328.850 last Sunday. Three Huskers won event titles at Penn State – Taylor Christopulos on floor, Chase Mondi on vault and Yanni Chronopoulos on pommel horse.
Scouting the Competition
#5 Michigan
- Most recently, the Wolverines defeated Ohio State with a season-high of 328.100.
- Charlie Larson (floor), Logan McKeown (parallel bars) and Paul Juda (high bar) claimed event titles against the Buckeyes.
- Three gymnasts (Juda, Solen Chiodi and Rithik Puri) hit season bests at the meet.
- Michigan moved up two spots in the rankings, nabbing the fifth spot.
Senior Spotlights
Taylor Christopulos
A team Captain and eight-time All-American, Christopulos has been a driving force for Nebraska throughout his five-year collegiate career. With 27 individual titles, he is the second-winningest gymnast in the Chuck Chmelka era. His dominance extended beyond the collegiate level, earning him a 2025 U.S. National Team spot.
Yanni Chronopoulos
A Canadian Olympic Team Alternate and NCAA Team Finals competitor, Yanni Chronopoulos has consistently led the Huskers, showcasing his skills on pommel horse, rings, and parallel bars. He has earned three titles this season and won Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honors after his performance at Ohio State.
James Friedman
Friedman has been a reliable presence for Nebraska on rings and pommel horse. He competed in the NCAA Qualifiers and Team Finals while excelling academically. Friedman also secured his first event title against Greenville.
Chris Hiser
A CGA All-American on still rings, Hiser has earned seven event titles on the event, placing him in the top five all-time winners for rings in Nebraska history.
A.J. Morgan
Morgan has been a dedicated contributor to Nebraska, competing on rings and being named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for his commitment beyond the gym.
Joey Pepe
Pepe has impacted parallel bars and high bars, recently securing Nebraska’s 300th parallel bars title, which was also his first career event title.
Zac Tiderman
A team captain and two-time All-American, Tiderman made history in 2024 with a school-record high bar routine.
Travis Wong
Wong competed in two meets this year on a pommel horse, earning a 13.45 last Sunday at Penn State.

- Taylor Christopulos, Yanni Chronopoulos, Asher Cohen, Jack Critz, James Friedman, Chris Hiser, Luke James, Anthony Koppie, Chase Mondi, Alex Nitache, Cole Partridge, Zac Tiderman and Nathan York were named to the Academic All-Big Ten list this week. The athletes must hold a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be named to the list.
- Next week, Christopulos and Alex Nitache head to Germany to compete for Team USA at the DFB Pokal Team Challenge from March 27- March 30.
