Nebraska high jumper Tyus Wilson was selected as the Big Ten Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year on Wednesday by the conference head coaches.
The senior from Sterling, Kan., was this year’s high jump national champion, the first Husker men’s indoor national champion since 2009, as he cleared an indoor PR and the third-highest mark in school history, 2.28m (7-5 ¾). Wilson is a four-time USTFCCCA First Team All-American, three-time Big Ten Champion and now a two-time conference field athlete of the year.
This marks the fourth year in a row a Husker has won the Big Ten Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honor, with Till Steinforth and Jonah Wilson earning this award the past two seasons.
