NCAA Silver Medalist Maddie Harris and All-American Till Steinforth were honored by the Big Ten on Thursday, March 20, as preseason athletes to watch entering the 2024-25 outdoor track and field season.
Three time All-American Harris looks to continue her impressive Husker career throwing the javelin. The senior from Lee’s Summit, Mo., is a two-time Big Ten Champion and will return to competition after redshirting last year’s outdoor season. In 2023, Harris set the javelin school record, throwing 199-3 (60.73m) to win the USATF javelin title, and finished fourth at the NCAA Championships.
Paris Olympian Steinforth, a four time all-american from Germany, is the school record holder in both the heptathlon and decathlon. He is a two-time Big Ten Champion, winning the decathlon title in 2023 and the long jump title in the 2024 indoor season.
Nebraska begins the outdoor season on April 4-5 with the Florida Relays.
