The No. 20 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team was selected to be a part of the Washington regional of the 2025 NCAA Championships, which is set for April 2-6. NU was placed in the second round of the regional and will compete against No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 15 Auburn and the winner of Illinois and UC Davis.
This marks the 40th time the Big Red has earned an NCAA Championship berth, and the third straight as a team.
NU is led by All-Big Ten honorees Emma Spence (first-team), Sophia McClelland (first-team), Emma Simpton (second-team) and Whitney Jencks (second-team). The team is coming off a ninth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships and a score of 196.175. Spence grabbed the bars title at the Big Ten Championships, tying a career-high 9.975. Spence and McClelland were also selected to the Big Ten All-Championships Team.
The top two teams from each session of the Washington regional will qualify for the regional finals, and the top two teams from the regional finals will qualify for the championship round, which takes place April 17-19 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The other three regional sites are Salt Lake City, Utah, University Park, Pa. and Tuscaloosa, Ala.
