Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska bowling team was selected as the second seed for the 2025 NCAA Bowling Regionals to begin postseason competition and will travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., April 4-5.
Nebraska will be joined by No. 6 Arkansas State, No. 10 Marville, Kutztown and Fayetteville State in the Pittsburgh Regional. Competition for the Huskers will take place on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.
The NCAA regional will feature a double-elimination format with one winner from each of the four regionals advancing to the NCAA Championship in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 11-12 at Suncoast Bowling Center.
With today's NCAA bid announcement, the Husker bowling program continues its reputation as the only program in history to qualify for every National Championship tournament since the NCAA sponsored bowling in the 2003-04 season. The Huskers, who are ranked No. 1 in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll, also rank first in the RPI rankings. The Cornhuskers hold a season record of 91-23, including 54 wins over ranked opponents, 15 coming against teams ranked in the top-five.
The Big Red finished the regular season in February, winning its hosted Big Red Invitational. The team boasts two other tournament victories, one at the Northeast Classic, the other at the Penguin Classic to start the season.
Four Huskers rank in the Top 25 in the Player Composite Performance Index (PCPI). Jillian Martin ranks first in the nation and leads the country in individual scoring average and strike percentage. Kayla Starr ranks 10th in the PCPI, followed by Kayla Verstraete at 16th. Anna Callan comes in at 25th.
Nebraska has had nine finishes on all-tournament teams this season by six different Huskers, including three at the Garden State Classic and at the Big Red Invitational respectively.
