Huskers Close Season at Big Ten Championship

Freshman Eden Lohrbach was Nebraska's top finisher with a three-round total of 228 (+12) to lead the Huskers at the Big Ten Women's Golf Championship in Havre de Grace, Maryland on Sunday.

Lohrbach, a true freshman from Ames, Iowa, closed the three-day event with a final-round 77 (+5) on the 6,187-yard layout of the Bulle Rock Golf Course, after opening the tournament with a 75 (+3) on Friday. She added a 76 (+4) on Saturday. Lohrbach tied for 61st individually in a 105-golfer field.

Miu Takahashi closed out her Nebraska career with a final-round 75 (+3) on Sunday. The senior from Nasu-machi, Japan tied for 74th with a 54-hole total of 232 (+16) after rounds of 82 and 75 over the first two days.

Sophomore Hannah Kono matched Takahashi in a tie for 74th at 232 (+16), including Nebraska's best individual round of the tournament with an even-par 72 on Saturday. Kono opened and closed the tournament with rounds of 80.

Olivia Lovegrove helped the Huskers on Sunday with a 75 (+3). The freshman out of Lincoln Christian also counted a 77 (+5) toward Nebraska's team score on Saturday, after sitting out the first round of the tournament as NU's substitute in the five-count-four scoring format.

Redshirt sophomore Symran Shah counted a 77 (+5) toward Nebraska's first-round team score and added a 79 in the second round, but sat out the third round as the Husker substitute.

Freshman Danica Lundgren managed an 82 in the first round, before sitting out the second round as a substitute. She closed the tournament with a final-round 84.

As a team, Nebraska took 18th with a three-round total of 921 (+57). No. 5 Oregon ran away with the team title with an 852 (-12), while No. 24 Michigan State finished second, 14 strokes behind the Ducks at 866 (+2). Illinois took third at 870 (+6), while No. 14 Ohio State (873) and No. 10 Northwestern (874) rounded out the top five.

Oregon's Kiara Romero captured the Big Ten individual championship with a 209 (-7), including a final-round 68 (-4). Romero, who is ranked No. 5 nationally, defeated Ohio State's No. 13 Kary Hollenbaugh (212) and Wisconsin's Kate Brody (212) by three strokes.
