Huskers Head to Vegas for Finals

Las Vegas - After defeating Maryville in the Pittsburgh Regional Finals, the Nebraska bowling team will travel this week to Las Vegas for the 2025 NCAA Women’s Bowling Championship at the Suncoast Bowling Center.

The teams joining the Big Red at the championship are top-seeded Jacksonville State, No. 3 seed Youngstown State, and No. 4 seed Wichita State. Competition will take place on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. The first ball will be thrown at 11 a.m. (CT) with two mega-matches Friday, the second beginning at 5 p.m. (CT). Competition will conclude on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. (CT) with an additional mega-match before the championship final at 8 p.m. (CT).

The NCAA championship will feature a double-elimination format with Jacksonville State taking on Wichita State in match one, and Nebraska facing Youngstown State in match two. The winner of match one will take on the winner of match two, and losers of the first two matches will face off in the consolation bracket in match four.

Play continues on Saturday with the loser of match three bowling against the winner of match four in the fifth match, and the winner of match three moving on to the championship final. The winner of match five will move on to the championship final where the competition will follow a best-of-seven baker match format.

The Huskers are looking for their seventh NCAA Championship and first since 2021. The semifinals will have a distinct Nebraska flavor, with three of the four teams featuring coaches who competed for the Nebraska men’s club program. The group includes Husker Head Coach Paul Klempa, Youngstown State’s Head Coach Doug Kuberski and Jacksonville State’s Coordinator of Athletic Operations Bryan O’Keefe.

Nebraska went 3-0 in the NCAA Pittsburgh Regional, posting wins over Kutztown (2-0) and Maryville twice (2-1, 2-1).
