Nebraska Set to Compete in Session I of the NCAA Championships

Ann Arbor, Mich. - The No. 4 Nebraska men’s gymnastics team will compete in Session I at the NCAA Gymnastic Championships, announced by the NCAA on Wednesday. Nebraska will face off against four other teams on April 18 at 12 p.m. (CT) and the meet will be streamed on ESPN+. 

The Big Red will face conference foe No. 5 Penn State, who finished second at the Big Ten Championships team finals. Additionally, senior Josh Karnes won the parallel bars at the individual conference championships. The Huskers will also face No. 8 Air Force and No. 9 California in a rematch of previous meets this season where the Huskers topped both teams. The Falcons had pommel horse star Patrick Hoopes, and All-Arounder Erich Upton lay claim to event titles at the Mountain Pacific Federation Championships. The Golden Bears’ Jasper Smith-Gordon on vault claimed the teams’ first event title in nine years. Roading out the group, Nebraska will see William and Mary for the first time since the 2021 season. Ricky Pizem won the ECAC high bar title, and Luke Tully was named Freshman of the Year for the ECAC. Nebraska will also face No. 1 Oklahoma who just won their 20th conference Title.
