Staff Spotlight: Sami Reinhard

After Husker alum Sami Reinhard spent one season as the Director of Operations for the Husker soccer team, ahead of the 2025 season a title change better reflects her role in the program: Director of Player Care.

“We recognize the need to provide strong support to our players both on and off the field,” Head Coach John Walker said. “In the Nebraska Soccer program, the responsibility of the Director of Player Care is to make players feel that they have a knowledgeable point person to help them navigate the many challenges of being a student athlete. Areas such as transitioning to college, housing arrangements, community knowledge, and time management are often overlooked, yet are vital to a student athlete having a fulfilling experience. Sami is perfectly suited for this position. She can empathize with the players as they seek to balance their demanding lives. Sami has exceptional social skills, pays great attention to detail, is compassionate and caring and also is an excellent problem solver. Our players will be in great hands with Sami.”

“Sami is an integral part of the Nebraska Soccer program,” Soccer Sport Administrator Jonathan Bateman said. “She is a strong communicator and gets things done – two essential qualities needed to excel in her position.”

The Director of Player Care has one goal in mind: to continue supporting the development of our student-athletes and the incredible work our coaching staff puts in every single day. Nebraska Soccer is all about development - on the field, in the classroom and as people - and this role is another way Nebraska Soccer is intentional about that commitment.

“Serving a program in an operations role can mean many things, but at the end of the day my role is about providing an elite college athletics experience for our players - managing transitions, off-field responsibilities, and the everyday details that help them perform and grow at a high level,” Reinhard said. “Our coaching staff has created an environment built on high standards, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support that work however I can. There’s no better place than Nebraska to do this, and I’m proud to be part of this program that continues to invest in the people who make it so special.”
