Lassila Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

After competing in his second collegiate tournament at the ITA Central Regional Championships, Jeri Lassila has won Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the week of Oct. 8-14. 

He becomes the first Nebraska player to win the weekly award after reaching the quarterfinals of the consolation round and a 2-2 singles record at the tournament. 

His award is highlighted by his straight-set wins over Kotaro Matsumura (North Dakota) 6-1, 6-2 and Christian Trevey (Omaha) 6-1, 6-4.
