The No. 2 Nebraska rifle team will travel to Fort Worth, Texas for a pair of matches this weekend. The Huskers will take on top-ranked TCU on Saturday, Nov. 1, and Schreiner on Sunday, Nov. 2. Both matches are set to begin at 8:45 a.m. (CT). Live results can be found here.
The Big Red enters the weekend at 7-0 after a weekend of rewriting the record books in West Point. NU defeated No. 14 Army, 4,749-4,685, Mount Aloysius, 4,747-4,556, and Norwich 4,747-4,381 along with two separate wins over No. 3 Kentucky. Over the weekend, the Huskers shot the highest aggregate score in school history with their score of 4,749, and broke the smallbore record two days in a row with scores of 2,364 and 2,369 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. In addition, senior Emma Rhode shot the first perfect individual score in program history with her score of 600 in the air rifle against Army and Kentucky.
“We’re excited to be hitting the road again this weekend to compete with a very talented TCU team,” head coach Richard Clark said. “Coming off the high of program records last weekend sets up another great test for the team to block out all the external noise, stay focused and execute on the little things. This group has shown themselves to be something special and I think we are in store for another exciting weekend on the range.”
TCU comes into the weekend having posted wins against No. 5 Georgia Southern, No. 7 Navy, No. 8 Alaska-Fairbanks, No. 12 Akron, No. 13 UTEP and No. 15 Air Force, with one loss coming at the hands of Georgia Southern. The Horned Frogs currently own the highest single-match aggregate score this season with a score of 4,753, which they shot at Air Force on Oct. 25. NU has a 4-30-1 record against TCU and most recently lost, 4,686-4,728, to the Horned Frogs on Nov. 2, 2024.
Schreiner enters the weekend still looking for its first win in the 2025-26 season. Nebraska has never matched up against Schreiner.
Following this weekend’s matches, the Huskers will travel to El Paso, Texas for a match against No. 13 UTEP on Saturday, Nov. 15.
