Huskers Cap Fall Season Strong

The No. 7 Nebraska rifle team took first in a three-team match, defeating No. 1 Ole Miss 4,743-4,712, and No. 14 Air Force 4,743-4,705, on Saturday in Lincoln. The Huskers finish the fall portion of the season with a 12-0 record.

Three shooters finished in the top five overall for NU. Emma Rhode placed first, shooting an aggregate score of 1,189. Carley Seabrooke took third with a score of 1,183, and Katlyn Sullivan followed in fourth with her score of 1,181.

“There were a lot of great battles on the line today," Head Coach Richard Clark said. "We won some and others didn’t fall our way but that’s the name of the game. I’m incredibly proud of the way the team has performed this fall and to cap it off with another solid score at home is a great feeling as we head into the spring. While the fall has come to a close, we will take some much needed rest and get back to work over the next couple of weeks.”

In the smallbore, Nebraska placed four shooters in the top five. Alivia Perkins placed first with a mark of 593, followed by Rhode in second and Seabrooke in third, shooting scores of 592 and 590 respectively. Maddy Moyer landed in fifth place with her score of 589. Camilla Johannessen (10th, 584), Katlyn Sullivan (11th, 583), Charlie Mick (12th, 583), Grace Corbett (19th, 576) and Hannah Gallagher (20th, 572) rounded out the smallbore lineup for the Big Red.

Two Nebraska shooters placed in the top five in the air rifle. Sullivan grabbed second place with a score of 598, and Rhode took fourth with a mark of 597. Seabrooke (eighth, 593) and Moyer (10th, 591) rounded up the top ten for the Huskers. Mick (12th, 589), Johannessen (15th, 588), Corbett (16th, 587), Hannah Gallagher (19th, 586) and Alivia Perkins (20th, 585) finished out the air rifle lineup for NU.

The Big Red will get a break before returning to competition in the spring. Nebraska will start its spring season with two matches against Kentucky and Alaska-Fairbanks on Jan. 17-18, 2026.
