Husker Bowling Heads to St. Louis

The fourth-ranked Nebraska Bowling team is back in action this weekend for the Columbia 300 Saints Invite, hosted by Maryville University in St. Louis, Mo., at Shrewsbury Lanes from Jan. 30-Feb. 1.

Coming off an extended break due to winter weather postponing the Prairie View Invitational, the Huskers are hoping to put together a strong performance in the Show Me State after falling short in the Northeast Classic, finishing ninth in a field of 36.

This weekend, the Big Red will face a decidedly smaller field of 16 teams. The lineup features nine other teams in the top 25, headlined by fifth-ranked Louisiana Tech and sixth-ranked Wichita State. It will be the second tournament of the season where Nebraska will be the top-ranked team in attendance, the other being the Colonial Classic back in November.

The Huskers will begin play on Friday, Jan. 30, at 10:35 a.m. CST with five five-game baker matches, followed by five traditional matches on Saturday, Jan. 31, starting at 9:30 a.m. CST. Total pinfall combined from both days will determine seeding for the final day of competition, Sunday, Feb. 1, consisting of three best-four-of-seven baker matches to determine final placements.
