The Nebraska women’s tennis team will travel to Charleston, S.C., for a pair of matches against College of Charleston and Charleston Southern. The Huskers (6-2, 0-0 Big Ten) will take on the Cougars (0-3, 0-0 CAA) on Friday, Feb. 20 at Noon (CT), and then will face the Buccaneers (2-3, 0-0 Big South) on Sunday, Feb. 22 at Noon (CT). This weekend marks the final matches before Nebraska moves into conference play against Illinois on March 6.
Last time out, NU split a weekend of duals, falling to Wichita State, 0-4, on Feb. 6, and then sweeping Abilene Christian, 4-0, on Feb. 7.
Freshman Katie Spencer has captured an impressive debut for the Big Red so far this season, leading the team in singles and doubles wins, with five wins in each. Close behind are Yuzu Miyoshi and Natalia Trigosso, who both have earned 4-0 starts to the season for the Huskers, the only two athletes who are undefeated in singles.
College of Charleston (0-3, 0-0 CAA)
History: The Huskers have never faced off against the Cougars. This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
Charleston Southern (2-3, 0-0 Big South)
History: Nebraska and Charleston Southern have never faced off against each other. This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams. The Bucs have captured wins over Wofford and Florida A&M.
