Friday’s Women’s Tennis Match at Charleston Canceled

Due to inclement weather, the Nebraska women’s tennis team’s match against College of Charleston has been canceled.

Before cancellation, the match began with doubles at the Turner Tennis Center at 12 p.m. (CT). Maria Taranova and Natalia Trigosso grabbed the first doubles victory for the Huskers on court three, defeating Santos/Severance, 6-2. Catherine Gagnon and Katie Spencer teamed up on court one and defeated Cariov/Salvato, 6-3, to secure the doubles point for the Big Red. Reya Lee Coe and Yuzu Miyoshi faced off and fell to Ahmad/Trinkle, 7-5, on court two. 

Nebraska led the match 1-0 before heavy rain rolled in to Charleston, S.C., and stopped play part way through singles competition. The match will officially be scored as no contest. 

UP NEXT 

The Huskers will stay in Charleston to compete against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Sunday, Feb. 22. The match will begin at 12 p.m. (CT) at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center in Charleston, S.C.
