Huskers Begin Postseason With PRC Championships

The No. 4 Nebraska rifle team will compete in the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 7-8 at The X-Count in Fort Wayne, Ind. Competition is set to begin at 8 a.m. (CT) on Saturday 7 a.m. (CT) on Sunday. Live results can be found here.

The field for this weekend’s championships features seven teams. Five of the top ten teams in the country are in the Patriot Rifle Conference, including No. 3 TCU, No. 4 Nebraska, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 7 Alaska-Fairbanks and No. 10 UTEP. No. 12 Ohio State and No. 13 Air Force round out the rankings for the PRC field. The Huskers have competed against every team in the conference this season.

“Postseason is upon us and we are excited to be on the road at X-count competing with some of the best teams in the nation this weekend,” Head Coach Richard Clark said. “Conference Championships is one of those matches we have spent all year preparing for, now it is time to go out and stay true to ourselves just like we have been all year and perform with confidence. It should be a very exciting and competitive weekend!”

The Big Red finished in fifth at last year’s PRC Championships, where Emma Rhode placed eighth in the air rifle. Her and Alivia Perkins both had strong individual performances with aggregate scores of 1,182 and 1,181 respectively.

The 2025-26 regular season was a season full of rewriting the record books. Nine of the top ten aggregate scores in team history now come from this year’s scores. NU shot a program high aggregate team score of 4,749 against Kentucky and Army on Oct. 25, breaking the record of 4,734 set two weeks before vs. UAB. The Huskers also broke the team smallbore score, shooting a score of 2,369 the following day on Oct. 26. A week later, NU shot the program high air rifle team score of 2,387 at TCU on Nov. 1.

The season was full of individual records as well. Standout freshmen Carley Seabrooke and Katlyn Sullivan both had impressive Husker debuts, as Seabrooke owns the single match freshman class record in the smallbore with her score of 593, which she shot twice. Sullivan owns the same record in the air rifle, boasting a score of 599 which she shot three times. Her score was also a school record before Rhode posted the first perfect score of 600 in the air rifle in team history.

Nebraska (17-1) enters PRC Championship Weekend coming off of a 4,731-4,660 victory over No. 13 Jacksonville State on Feb. 1.

Following the PRC Championships, the Huskers will travel to Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 21 to take on No. 12 Ohio State in an NCAA-qualifier match.
