Lincoln, Neb.- Senior Nathan York was named CGA Gymnast of the Week, senior Asher Cohen earned Specialist of the Week honors and freshman Sam Rakita was awarded Rookie of the Week following dominant performances in Nebraska’s meet against Illinois.
York posted a 13.40 on floor, a 14.00 on pommel horse for second place, a 14.15 for a tie for first and a 14.10 on parallel bars to claim first. The honor marks his first CGA award of the season.
Cohen recorded a 14.15 on rings to win the event and added a 13.65 on parallel bars for a second-place finish. The Nissen-Emery Award finalist continues to be a key piece for the Huskers, collecting his second CGA Specialist of the Week honor this season.
Rakita delivered a career-high 13.85 on rings to place second, highlighted by a stuck landing. He also earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for his performance.
