Nebraska softball players Hannah Camenzind, Jesse Farrell, Jordy Frahm and Alexis Jensen were all recognized by Softball America as top players at their positions, as the organization released its monthly power rankings on Monday.
Frahm was recognized as the nation’s No. 1 two-way player and Camenzind was No. 3 in that position, while Farrell was the No. 13 ranked catcher and Jensen was the No. 27 pitcher.
Frahm has a record of 4-3 in the circle this year and pairs it with a .421 average at the plate. She has thrown a team-high 53.0 innings with a 1.72 ERA, five saves and 71 strikeouts. Offensively, she has 24 hits, 19 RBI, seven homers and two doubles and is six RBI away from 100+ hits, runs and RBI in her career.
Camenzind is undefeated in the circle, with a record of 4-0 across six appearances and 22.1 innings pitched. She threw a no-hitter against Hawaii at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. The Valley, Neb., native adds a team-low ERA of 1.25. At the plate, she hits .354 with 23 hits, 11 RBI, six doubles and two homers.
Farrell has made an immediate impact in her first year with the Huskers, posting a .313 batting average with 13 extra-base hits, including six home runs. She has 17 RBI and a slugging percentage of .719. She has also registered 149 putouts so far this year.
Jensen is 6-2 in the circle across 44.1 innings pitched. She adds a team-high 78 strikeouts with only five walks and ranks fourth nationally and first in the Big Ten in strikeout-to-walk ratio. Jensen has also made her way into the batting order the last two weekends and has three hits.
The Huskers are set to host South Dakota State for a doubleheader at Bowlin Stadium on Thursday, March 5. The first game is set to start at 4 p.m. (CT) and both games will be streamed on B1G+ and can be heard across the Huskers Radio Network.
