Husker Bowling selected for NCAA Pittsburgh Regional

Written byEvan Boldt

The fourth-ranked Nebraska Bowling team earned a spot in the Pittsburgh Regional, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon.

The regional will take place at AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes from Thursday, April 2 to Saturday, April 4. The opening-round match will feature Saint Vincent and Belmont Abbey with the winner advancing to face No. 3 seed Arkansas State. The Huskers will take on Duquesne in the other matchup.

All regionals are double elimination except for the opening-round match at the five-team regional sites which will be single elimination. Each round will consist of teams competing in a best-of-three match format, bowled in the following order: five-person team match; Baker total pinfall; and best-of-seven Baker match play. Regional competition will conclude with one team from each regional bracket advancing to compete in the championship.

It will be the Huskers’ second consecutive year playing in the Steel City, advancing to the NCAA finals in 2025. Nebraska enters the NCAA Regional with a 71-33 record on the season following a fourth-place finish at the Conference USA Championships earlier this month. Nebraska is the only NCAA program to qualify for the NCAA Tournament every year since the championship was started in 2004.

The last four teams standing will head to Parma Heights, Ohio, for NCAA Championships on April 10-11. The Pittsburgh Regional champion will advance to the NCAA finals to play the winner of the Rochester Regional.
