Huskers on the Road to Texas Woman’s University

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team (5-7, 3-6 Big Ten) will travel to Denton, Texas to take on Texas Woman’s University on Friday, March 6. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. (CT) at Kitty Magee Arena and will be streamed on FloCollege.

NU leads the series against the Pioneers 7-0. The teams met last season in Lincoln for the Ameritas Masters Classic, where the Huskers grabbed a 196.450-195.975 victory.

Last Time Out
NU scored a 195.200 to take third in the Big Fours meet on Saturday in University Park, Pa. The Huskers were victorious over Washington, but fell to No. 9 Michigan and No. 16 Penn State.

Whitney Jencks took home the all-around title with a 38.650. Isabel Sikon took second in the all-around with a 38.500.

Olivia Burns and Lauren Homecillo both tied career highs in the contest as well. Burns notched a 9.875 on beam to lead the team in the event and Homecillo earned a 9.925 on floor for the Huskers.

Scouting the Competition
TWU is ranked No. 45 in the Road to Nationals Standings, with a NQS score of 194.957. The Pioneers are 8-11 with notable wins over Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon State.

Sophia Isbell led the team in a recent quad meet against Florida, Arizona State and Fisk. Isbell tied a career-high 9.85 on vault, notched a career-high 9.900 on beam and earned a 9.875 on floor.
