A total of 15 Nebraska men's and women's golfers claimed Academic All-Big Ten honors when the conference announced its award winners across all spring sports on June 10.
Brooke Bream led eight members of the Husker women's golf team by capturing the fourth Academic All-Big Ten award of her career. The graduate student from Phoenix, Ariz., who won the Nebraska Women's Amateur last week to earn a spot in the upcoming U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, claimed the honor while pursuing a master's degree in business.
She was joined on the team by her sister, Mackenzie, who claimed her second Academic All-Big Ten award as a management/sports media and communication major, while fellow sports media and communication major Arden Louchheim added the second honor of her career.
Hannah Kono, Lauren Thiele, Symran Shah, Olivia Lovegrove and Eden Lohrbach each earned the first Academic All-Big Ten accolades of their Husker careers.
On the men's side, redshirt junior Evan McDermott led the charge with his third Academic All-Big Ten award. The mechanical engineering major from Spring Lake, Mich., was joined by fellow fourth-year Huskers Davis Johnson and Quinn Yost in claiming their third academic all-conference awards.
NCAA Regional qualifier and first-team All-Big Ten selection Rudy Sautron joined Jackson Benge, James Ackerman and Brodie Cunningham in earning the first Academic All-Big Ten awards of their careers.
