Jorgenson Tallies School Records at TYR Pro Series

Former Husker great Gena Jorgenson competed in a four-day series (June 17-20) of long-course action at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Indianapolis, Ind.

The Indiana University Natatorium hosted roughly 600 of the United States most decorated swimmers, with a majority of the active 2024 Paris Olympians.

Following the completion of her senior year at Nebraska, Jorgenson reached four lifetime bests over the span of the event.

Just behind 14-time Olympic medal winner Katie Ledecky and Olympic qualifier Katie Grimes, Jorgenson smashed her previous school record in the 1500 free. For her third-place finish, she clocked a 16:13.87, dropping 1.57 seconds from her previous best set at the 2025 FISU World Games.

The Aberdeen, S.D. native replaced two other NU school records while competing among Olympic swimmers. Notably, she added a fifth-place finish in the 800 free (8:32.01) and a 4:48.64 in the 400 IM (12th).

With her first lifetime performance of the meet, Jorgenson swam a 2:01.12 in the 200 free to place 18th and qualify for B finals. She finished the event in 16th with a 2:02.98.

Jorgenson additionally competed in the 200 back (15th, 2:13.07) and the 400 free (10th, 4:12.37).
