Nebraska's Caden Mickelson put together 36 holes of outstanding golf to win the Indian Creek Invitational and an exemption into the upcoming Pinnacle Bank Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Mickelson, a sophomore-to-be from Kansas City, Mo., opened with a 67 (-5) on Saturday, before following with a 68 (-4) on the 7,569-yard layout in Elkhorn Sunday.
Mickelson claimed a two-shot win over Will Mullin, an Omaha native and 2026 senior at Mary-Hardin Baylor.
Trevor Gutschewski from the University of Florida, who won the title and sponsor's exemption in 2024, finished third at 141 - six strokes back of Mickelson.
Mickelson's future Husker teammates Zack Erstad and Gavin Gerch tied for fourth with 36-hole totals of 142 (-2).
Mickelson gives the Huskers their second straight Indian Creek Invitational champion after Rudy Sautron won the title in 2025.
The first round of the Korn Ferry Tour's Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Woodhouse begins Thursday, Aug. 6, at Indian Creek and continues through the championship round on Sunday, Aug. 9.
