Four former Huskers will take part in the 2026 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, highlighted by professional debuts for Rienk Mast and Sam Hoiberg.
In addition to Mast (Indiana Pacers) and Hoiberg (Phoenix Suns), Josiah Allick (Charlotte Hornets), Brice Williams (Detroit Pistons) will also be in action in Las Vegas. It is the second straight summer that Nebraska has had four NBA Summer League participants.
Each team will play at least five games, including four preliminary contests from July 9-16. The semifinals are set for July 18 on Prime Video, while the championship game will air July 19 on ESPN. Teams not advancing to the semifinals will play a fifth game between July 17-19. A full schedule for the Huskers in action is listed at the bottom of the release.
Allick, who played for the Huskers in 2023-24 and helped NU to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014, will be playing in Summer League for the first time after helping the Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, to a G League title last season. Allick averaged 6.6 points per game on 68 percent shooting, 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game in 28 games for the Swarm after playing in New Zealand in the Summer of 2025. As a Husker, he averaged 7.3 points per game on 55 percent shooting and 5.4 rebounds per game in helping the Huskers to 23 wins. Allick totaled 1,246 career points and 781 rebounds in his career which included stints at UMKC and New Mexico.
Hoiberg will join the Phoenix Suns in the summer league following a five-year career which saw the 6-foot guard go from walk-on to one of the best players in the Big Ten. Hoiberg averaged 9.3 points per game on 54 percent shooting along with 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game to set career best in all those areas. He set the school record for assist-to-turnover ratio (3.75-to-1) to rank ninth nationally. Hoiberg ranked on NU’s single-season top-10 lists in both steals (70, sixth) and assists (157, seventh). In addition to earning honorable-mention All-Big Ten honors, Hoiberg was named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team.
Mast will play with Indiana Pacers in Las Vegas following a decorated Husker career. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in 2025-26, as Nebraska won 28 games and reached the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time in program history. Mast, who was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree, reached double figures 24 times as a senior, including five 20-point games. He led the Huskers with three double-doubles, including a triple-double against FIU with 18 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists. For his career, he totaled 1,849 points, 1,094 rebounds and 351 assists in his career, which included three seasons at Bradley.
Williams, who played for the Pistons in the 2025 Summer League, returns after spending the 2025-26 season with the Motor City Cruise, the NBA G League affiliate of the Pistons. He averaged 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 46 percent from the field, including 42.4 percent from 3-point range as a rookie last season. As a senior at NU in 2024-25, he averaged 20.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in leading Nebraska to a 21-14 record and the first-ever College Basketball Crown championship. A first-team All-Big Ten and all-district honoree, Williams had four 30-point games, including a school-record 43-point performance at Ohio State. His 713 points broke NU’s single-season scoring mark, while he also finished in the top five on single-season charts in free throws made (189, second), free throw percentage (.883, fourth), free throw attempts (214, fifth) and minutes played (1,192, fourth). He finished his two-year Husker career with 1,168 points and totaled 1,969 career points including three seasons at Charlotte.
