Huskers Battle to 1-1 Draw Against No. 8 Notre Dame

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against No. 8 Notre Dame on Thursday evening at Hibner Stadium.

Nathalie Lewis notched her second goal of the season for the Huskers (1-0-2), striking in the 33rd minute, while Ellie Hodsden recorded a goal in the 72nd minute to provide the scoring for the Fighting Irish (0-0-3).

Avery Gillahan (1-0-2) received the start in the net for Nebraska, picking up five saves. Jackie Holloman started at goalie for Notre Dame, saving three shots.

Along with Lewis’ two shots on target, Ella Rudney and Jo Sees recorded a shot on goal for the Big Red.

Nebraska continues its homestand on Sunday, Aug. 23 against the No. 18 Alabama Crimson Tide. The match will stream on B1G+, with kickoff slated for Noon (CT).
