Huskers Finish Level with No. 11 Washington, 2-2

LINCOLN, Neb. - A last-minute goal from No. 11 Washington helped the Huskies earn a 2-2 draw with Nebraska on Sunday afternoon in a hard-fought Big Ten soccer match at Barbara Hibner Stadium.

Nebraska (2-2-5, 0-1-2 Big Ten) trailed 1-0 at halftime but stormed back with second-half goals from Karli Williams and Ava Makovicka to take a 2-1 lead. The Huskers held on until the final minute, when Maya Loudd provided the equalizer off a corner kick to give No. 11 Washington (7-0-2, 2-0-1 Big Ten) the 2-2 draw and remain unbeaten.

Makovicka’s goal was her second of the season, coming on a career-high five shot attempts. Williams notched her first collegiate goal, scoring off a free kick in the 63rd minute.

Washington, which had allowed only two goals in eight matches before Sunday, held a slim lead in shots (18-17), but the Big Red finished with more shots on goal (7-6) and corners (7-6).

Avery Gillahan (2-2-5) finished with four saves. Ella Guyott, making her first start since the 2024 season, tallied an assist.

Nebraska returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 24, against the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. (CT), with streaming on B1G+.
