Competing for conference championships on a yearly basis is not only a goal for the Nebraska softball program, it is an expectation. The Huskers have won a total of 20 conference crowns in program history, including 12 in the Big Eight Conference, six in the Big 12 Conference and two as a member of the Big Ten Conference.
NU claimed its first league title in 1982, and the Huskers won five straight Big Eight championships from 1984 to 1988. Nebraska also won the Big Eight Tournament in each of those seasons.
In 1998, Rhonda Revelle led the Huskers to their first Big 12 Conference crown and did so in dominant fashion. That year, Nebraska captured both the regular-season and tournament titles, but even more impressively finished the Big 12 season with a perfect 16-0 record. To this day, NU is still the only team to finish a season of league play without a loss.
In 2000, the Huskers finished runner-up in the regular season but claimed the Big 12 tournament title. Winning the tournament crown was an impressive feat considering Oklahoma, the regular-season champ, went on to win the national title that season.
The following season, NU won its fourth Big 12 title by capturing the coveted regular-season title. Nebraska then swept the regular-season and tournament titles in 2004 to give the Huskers a league high six conference crowns at the time.
Nebraska's first Big Ten conference crown came in 2014, when the Huskers won 15 of their final 16 Big Ten games to earn a share of the conference title.
The Huskers won their first Big Ten Tournament title in 2022. Nebraska finished runner-up in the regular season, but went on to claim the tournament crown as the No. 2 seed.
