Competed in six games, making one start in first season at Nebraska. • Recorded a home run, one RBI and a run scored in six at-bats on the season. • Became the first Husker since 2021 with an inside-the-park home run after hitting a pinch-hit inside-the-park homer at Wichita State. • Drew a walk in a pinch-hitting appearance vs. Nicholls.
Lincoln Southeast High School
Rated the No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Nebraska by Prep Baseball Report. • Lettered in football and baseball at Lincoln Southeast High School. • Was a three-time all-conference and all-state selection with the Knights. • Hit .485 at the plate and helped the Knights to a 17-11 record as a senior after leading the team to a district title and fifth-place finish at the state tournament as a junior. • Hit .436 with 15 doubles, two triples, a home run, 16 RBI and 45 runs as a junior after hitting .452 with six doubles, a triple and three homers as a sophomore. • Also played for JC Brager and the Nebraska Prospects, seeing time as an outfielder, pitcher and third baseman.

Born on Sept. 1, 2004. • Parents are Ben and Megan Buettenback. • Has one brother, Cash. • Comes from a Husker Football family, as his father, Ben, was a four-year letterwinner in football at Nebraska from 1996 to 1999 and was a member of the 1997 national championship team, while his uncle, Matt Vrzal, was a three-year letterwinner and part of the 1994 and 1995 national championship teams. • Also had an uncle, Bo Buettenback, play college basketball at Cornell. • Majoring in mathematics.
