Before Nebraska
Invida Maurina joined Nebraska following two seasons at Houston.
In the 2025-26 season, Maurina competed in 11 meets, including the Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor Championships and her second straight appearance in the NCAA West Regional. She placed third in the 400-meter at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational (1/10) and won the 600-yard at the Howie Ryan Invitational (2/13). During outdoor season, she took part in six meets, with the highlight coming in a second place finish in the 800m at the Victor Lopez Classic (3/28).
She was born and raised in Riga, Latvia, where she was a six year track & field letter winner and a five-time Latvian National Champion. Maurina represented Latvia at the European U23 and Latvian Championship, taking home medals. Maurina also is the Latvian indoor 800m record holder and a European U23 Championships participant. She represented Latvia at the World U20 Championships 800m and is the Latvian 4x400m relay team record holder.
