Hausmann, who entered the Husker program as a quarterback, redshirted and did not play in a game in 2022.
Before Nebraska (Norris HS)
Hausmann was a two-way standout for Norris High School, excelling as a quarterback and a safety. Hausmann threw for 1,612 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2021, while rushing for 497 yards and another seven touchdowns. Hausmann also saw action on defense for the Titans, recording 12 tackles and two interceptions. Hausmann was a first-team all-state honoree by the Lincoln Journal Star and was an honorable-mention all-state pick by the Omaha World-Herald. Hausmann led Coach Ty Twarling’s squad to an 8-3 record as a junior in 2020, when he threw for 1,835 yards and 27 touchdowns.
A three-sport athlete at Norris, Hausmann played on the basketball team and was a standout on the track. As a junior, Hausmann finished second in Class B in the 100 meters, was fourth in the 200 and seventh in the high jump. He was fourth in the 100 meters and sixth in the 200 meters as a senior.
Personal
Cooper was born on Jan. 5, 2004, and he is the son of Joey and Rebecca Hausmann. Cooper is majoring in management. Cooper’s older brother, Ashton, finished his Husker career in 2023.
