Demitrius Bell redshirted in his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (McGavock High School)
Bell was a two-way standout for McGavock High School in Nashville. He starred in the secondary and at wide receiver, where he was regarded as one of the nation’s top prospects.

Bell led McGavock with 702 receiving yards and eight touchdowns as a senior. He also rushed for 274 yards and two touchdowns and was 5-of-8 passing for 169 yards and two scores. On defense, Bell recorded 17 tackles to help the Raiders to a state playoff appearance. As a junior, Bell caught 35 passes for 498 yards and seven touchdowns, according to On3. He also played basketball for McGavock.

Bell was regarded as a four-star prospect by On3 and Rivals, which ranked him among the top 40 wide receivers in the country. Bell had an impressive list of offers, and he chose Nebraska over Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss, among others.

Demitrius was born on April 20, 2005, and he is the son of Molly Wilson and Lemont Gooch. Bell is majoring in pre-health.
