Before Nebraska (King's HS/Washington)
Jack McCallister spent four seasons at Washington before transferring to Nebraska, including three years as the Huskies’ starting punter. McCallister punted 110 times in his Washington career, averaging 42.0 yards per punt with 20 punts of 50 yards or longer and 33 punts down inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.
McCallister redshirted in his first season at Washington in 2021 before becoming the Huskies’ starting punter in 2022. That season, McCallister averaged 40.8 yards per punt. In 2023, he increased his average to 41.7 yards per punt and allowed only eight punt returns for 24 yards on 45 punts. A member of the Ray Guy Award watch list, McCallister had his best season as a junior, averaging 43.0 yards per punt in 2024. He placed 15 of his 42 punts inside the 20-yard line.
McCallister played both football and soccer at King’s High School in Washington.
