Before Nebraska (Collins Hill HS/East Tennessee State)
Jaylen George spent three seasons at FCS East Tennessee State before transferring to Nebraska. After redshirting in 2022, George started 23 games over his final two seasons at ETSU, recording 54 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
George started 11 games as a redshirt freshman in 2023 while earning a spot on the All-SoCon Freshman Team. He recorded 21 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. In his final season at East Tennessee State in 2024, George totaled 33 tackles, including seven contests with here or more tackles. He added 6.0 tackles for loss and a half sack. George’s play earned him first-team All-SoCon honors, and he helped the Buccaneers rank 13th in the FCS against the run, 14th in total defense and 18th in scoring defense.
George played his prep ball for Collins Hill High School, where he helped the team to the 2021 Georgia 7A state title. He recorded 108 tackles and 10 sacks as a senior.
