Before Nebraska (Murray HS)
Jeremiah Jones came to Nebraska from Kentucky, a state which has produced only one letterwinner in the history of Cornhusker football. Jones was regarded as one of the top players in the state as a talented all-around player for Murray High School.
Jones helped Murray to a trip to the second round of the state playoffs in his senior season. He had 1,014 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on offense while recording 117 tackles, 11 sacks and 18 tackles for loss on defense. Jones earned an at-large selection to the Lexington Herald-Leader Class of the Commonwealth team as a senior. As a junior, Jones caught 22 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 304 yards and three scores. Jones also completed 52-of-104 passes for 643 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Jones had 66 tackles, four sacks and five tackles for loss with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a touchdown. In his sophomore season, Jones led Murray with 97 tackles and five interceptions. He had seven interceptions as a freshman and finished his career with 15 interceptions.
A four-star recruit, Jones was ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Kentucky by On3. He was regarded as one of the top 140 prospects in the country and the nation’s No. 2 athlete by On3.

Jeremiah is the son of Michele Jones and Nathan Moore. Jeremiah has not declared a major.
