Kyle Cunanan has been Nebraska's starting place-kicker every game this season. He is 3-of-3 on field goals and has made all 11 extra-point tries, leading Nebraska with 20 points. Cunanan has also recorded six touchbacks on 11 kickoffs.

Cunanan opened his Husker career by going 2-of-2 on field goals against Cincinnati, including a career-long 52-yarder. Cunanan also made both of his PATs against the Bearcats and had two touchbacks on three kickoffs. Cunanan set career highs with nine extra points and 12 points against Akron. He made a 35-yard field goal in his lone attempt against Akron, and Cunanan also kicked off eight times with four touchbacks.

Cunanan played two seasons at Charlotte (2023-24) and spent the 2025 spring season at Cal before transferring to Nebraska.

Cunanan played in 15 games in his two seasons at Charlotte, connecting on 14-of-20 field goals and all 21 of extra-point tries. He redshirted in 2024, playing in three games and going 5-of-5 on field goals and 5-of-5 on extra points with one touchback on six kickoffs. In 2023, Cunanan played in 12 games and made 9-of-15 field goals with a long of 49 yards. He also was 16-of-16 on PATs and had 21 touchbacks on 45 kickoffs. Cunanan tied the school record with three field goals made in consecutive games against Florida Atlantic and Tulsa.

Prior to Charlotte, Cunanan scored 197 points at Sunnyslope High School in Arizona. He had a long field goal of 51 yards in his prep career, and Cunanan was also the starting punter in his final two seasons.
