2024 (Redshirt)
An LSU transfer, Mac Markway joined the Huskers just prior to Nebraska's first game of the season. He suffered a season-ending injury in September and will utilize his redshirt season in 2024.

Before Nebraska (De Smet Jesuit HS/LSU)
Markway played one season at LSU before transferring to Nebraska. He previously starred at De Smet Jesuit High School in St. Louis.

Markway played in 12 games with one start as a true freshman at LSU in 2023. He caught three passes for 16 yards in his lone season as a Tiger. He caught a pass in each of his first two games, grabbing an eight-yard reception against Grambling before hauling in a five-yard catch in a start against Mississippi State. Markway's final catch of the season was a three-yard touchdown reception against Georgia State.

Markway was a four-star recruit out of De Smet Jesuit who was ranked as the No. 3 tight end in the country by ESPN and the No. 8 tight end by Rivals. He was highly rated despite missing his senior season while recovering from an injury.

Mac is the son of Matt Markway, who was a tight end at Iowa.
