Before Nebraska (Midland Legacy HS/Purdue)
Marcos Davila spent one season at Purdue before transferring to Nebraska. He did not play in a game while redshirting in 2024.

Davila was a prep star at Midland Legacy High School in Texas. He threw for 9,101 yards in his high school career with 93 touchdowns, both of which were school records. Davila had consecutive 3,000-yard passing seasons as a junior and senior while throwing 66 touchdowns in those two seasons. Davila led his team to a district title in each of his three seasons as a starter and was the district offensive MVP as both a junior and senior. In his first year as a starter, Davila was named the district offensive newcomer of the year as a sophomore.
