Ottomanelli was a clutch place-kicker for Coach Brian Dunn at Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan in New Jersey. As one of the top kicking prospects in the Northeast, Ottomanelli was 14-of-17 on field goals in his career, according to NJ.com.

As an all-district selection as a senior, Ottomanelli made 6-of-8 field goals with 48 extra points. He set a school record with a 50-yard field goal against Ramapo. Ottomanelli also handled kickoff and punting duties for the Golden Knights. In his junior season, Ottomanelli was 4-of-5 on field goals with a long of 46 yards. He made all four of his field goal attempts as a sophomore.

Kohl's Kicking ranked him as a 4.5-star prospect as a kicker and a four-star prospect as a punter.
