Rex Guthrie has yet to play in a game this season.

Before Nebraska (Heritage HS)
Guthrie was one of the top prospects in Colorado. He starred for Heritage High School in Littleton, playing for Coach Tyler Knoblock.

Guthrie was selected a team captain for the 2023 season but had his senior campaign cut short due to injury. He made 15 tackles in two games and earned academic all-state recognition as Heritage posted a 7-5 record and made the Class 4A quarterfinals.

As a junior, Guthrie helped Heritage to a state quarterfinal appearance. He made 115 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss and added three interceptions. On special teams, he averaged 28.0 yards per kickoff return. Guthrie led his conference in tackles and was the league’s special teams player of the year while earning All-Colorado honors. He was also a first-team Academic All-State honoree.

Guthrie was a second-team all-conference selection as a sophomore when he had 64 tackles and two interceptions and handled kickoff return duties.
Guthrie was a consensus top 10 player in the state of Colorado, including being tabbed as the No. 4 in the state by 247 Sports.
