2024 (Senior)
Ty Robinson has started every game this season, increasing his career total to 59 games played, which ties the Nebraska record for games played. Robinson has totaled 33 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks - all of which are career highs - with three pass breakups, one blocked field goal and one safety. He leads Nebraska in TFLs and sacks. Robinson was honored as a second-team All-Big Ten selection by the Associated Press and as a third-team pick by the Big Ten coaches and media.

He made the 35th start of his career in the season opener against UTEP and was a disruptive force. Robinson made two tackles in the game, both behind the line of scrimmage. He had a three-yard tackle for loss in the end zone that resulted in a safety, Nebraska's first defensive safety since the 2009 season. Robinson's second tackle was a five-yard sack. Against Colorado, Robinson had two solo tackles, including a nine-yard sack. He also had a pass breakup and blocked the second field goal of his career. Robinson recorded two tackles and broke up a pass against Northern Iowa. He had three tackles against Illinois. Robinson totaled two tackles at Purdue, including an eight-yard sack.

Robinson was disruptive in the win over Rutgers, totaling three tackles including 2.0 TFLs and a 9-yard sack. He also broke up a pass against the Scarlet Knights. He had two solo tackles at Indiana. Robinson recorded three tackles ast Ohio State, including one tackle for loss. Robinson tied the Nebraska record for games played against UCLA, appearing in the 56th game of his career. He had four tackles against the Bruins with two tackles for loss and an eight-yard sack. Robinson had two tackles at USC, including a 10-yard strip sack that resulted in a takeway that led to a Husker field goal. He recorded five tackles against Wisconsin with a quarterback hurry. Robinson had three tackles and one TFL at Iowa.

Robinson is wearing the No. 9 after he was one of 10 Huskers to win a team vote to wear a single-digit number.

2023 (Junior)
Robinson played in all 12 games with 11 starts. He posted a career-high 29 tackles with a career-high six pass breakups while tying his career high with 4.0 tackles for loss. Robinson also led Nebraska with 11 quarterback hurries and blocked a field goal against Iowa. 

Robinson was a big part of a Blackshirt defense that posted Nebraska’s best rushing defense (92.9 yards per game), total defense (303.5 yards per game) and scoring defense (18.3 points per game) since the Huskers joined the Big Ten in 2011. NU ranked in the top 20 nationally in each of those three categories. Robinson was key in Nebraska ranking eighth nationally in rushing defense. He wore the No. 9 in 2023 as one of 10 Huskers to earn a single-digit number in a team vote selecting him as one of Nebraska’s “toughest” players.

Against Northern Illinois, Robinson made two tackles, including a half sack. He recorded three tackles against Louisiana Tech. Robinson totaled three tackles with a half TFL against No. 2 Michigan.

At Illinois, he recorded three tackles and a career-high three quarterback hurries. Robinson had a half sack for an eight-yard loss and a pass breakup against Northwestern. 
Robinson had three tackles and one quarterback hurry at Michigan State. He set career highs with seven tackles, 1.5 TFLs and two pass breakups against Maryland while also recovering a fumble.

Robinson had two tackles, a five-yard tackle for loss and two more pass breakups at Wisconsin. He made two tackles against Iowa and added two quarterback hurries, one pass breakup and the first blocked field goal of his career.

2022 (Sophomore)
Nebraska's co-Defensive Lineman of the Year, Robinson started all 12 games in 2022. He totaled 24 tackles with 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.

Robinson made one tackle against both Northwestern and North Dakota. Against Georgia Southern, he recorded three tackles with a half tackle for loss. Robinson made one solo tackle against No. 6 Oklahoma. He totaled four tackles against Indiana, including an eight-yard sack. Robinson had one tackle at Purdue before recording six tackles against No. 17 Illinois, including a half tackle for loss. Robinson had one tackle against both Minnesota and Michigan, including a six-yard sack against Minnesota. He recorded three tackles against Wisconsin and had two tackles with one tackle for loss and one pass breakup at Iowa.

2021 (Redshirt Freshman)
Robinson played in all 12 games with four starts in 2021, totaling career highs of 27 tackles 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. He started at defensive end and tied his then-career high with four tackles at Illinois before adding two tackles the next week against Fordham. Robinson made three stops against Buffalo, including a two-yard tackle for loss. He added three more tackles at No. 3 Oklahoma. 

Robinson made two stops at No. 20 Michigan State, including a one-yard tackle for loss. Robinson tied his career high with four tackles against No. 9 Michigan, while also registering a 13-yard sack for his first career sack and breaking up the first pass of his career. Robinson started at Minnesota and had a pair of solo tackles. He recorded one tackle against Purdue and added another tackle against No. 6 Ohio State. Robinson started at No. 19 Wisconsin and had a pair of tackles. He started again in the season finale with No. 17 Iowa and totaled three tackles, including a seven-yard sack.

2020 (Covid Season)
Robinson played in every game and started seven of the Huskers’ eight games as a redshirt freshman. He helped anchor a strong defensive line and finished with 17 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss. 

Robinson started at defensive end at No. 5 Ohio State and totaled three tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss in his first career start. At Northwestern, Robinson made a then-career-high four tackles, including one tackle for loss. He matched that effort with four more tackles in the win over Penn State before recording two tackles vs. Illinois. Robinson had one tackle at Iowa, and he made three tackles against Minnesota.

2019 (Redshirt)
Robinson played in three games as a true freshman, appearing on the defensive line against No. 15 Wisconsin, Maryland and No. 19 Iowa. By playing in only three games, he redshirted and preserved a season of eligibility.

Before Nebraska (Higley HS)
Robinson was one of the most coveted defensive linemen recruits in the country. He comes to Lincoln after earning high school All-America honors at Higley High School in Arizona, where he is one of four finalists for the All-American Bowl National Defensive Player of the Year.

As a senior, Robinson slid inside to play defensive tackle for the first time in his career. He registered 74 tackles, including 34 tackles for loss and seven sacks in 2018 while helping Higley to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the Arizona 5A semifinals. Robinson spent his junior season at his more natural position of defensive end, where he totaled 56 tackles, 30 TFLs, 13 sacks, five forced fumbles and three quarterback hurries for an 11-2 Higley team that advanced to the 4A state semifinals. Robinson earned first-team All-Arizona accolades in the big schools classification as a junior. As a sophomore, Robinson had 16 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks for an 11-2 Higley squad that made the 4A state semifinals.

A consensus four-star recruit, Robinson was ranked as the No. 98 player in the country by Rivals and among the top 180 players nationally in the 247 Sports Composite rankings. He had offers from many of the top programs and chose Nebraska after also visiting Alabama, Oregon and USC.

Personal
Ty is the son of Tresha Robinson, and he was born on May 3, 2001. Ty was a nutrition and health sciences major and graduated in May of 2023.
