2024 (Sophomore)
Vincent Genatone has played in every game this season as a key member of Nebraska's special teams. He recorded his first tackle as a Husker with a solo stop on kickoff coverage against Wisconsin.
Before Nebraska (North Platte High School/Montana)
Genatone redshirted at Montana in 2022, before playing on special teams in 2023, when he logged one tackle. Genatone was part of a Griz team that reached the FCS national championship game.
Genatone was named the Omaha World-Herald’s 2022 Male Athlete of the Year. In that year, he recorded 136 tackles as a linebacker for North Platte, while winning the 220-pound Class A wrestling title and running a 10.5 100-meter dash.
On the gridiron, Genatone earned first-team All-Nebraska honors from the World-Herald and was a Super State pick by the Lincoln Journal Star. Among his tackle totals, were 14.5 tackles for loss as a senior. On offense, he rushed for 911 yards and 13 touchdowns in his senior season.
In addition to his wrestling state title as a senior, Genatone captured the 195-pound title as a junior, while lettering in track for the Bulldogs. Genatone had numerous other FCS scholarship offers and FBS walk-on opportunities, before selecting Montana out of high school.
Personal
Vince was born on Nov. 15, 2003, and is the son of Al and Kristin Genatone. Vince is a management major.
