Willis McGahee IV has played in eight games as a true freshman and has posted eight tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss and 1.0 sack. He leads Nebraska with two forced fumbles.

McGahee recorded two solo tackles in his Husker debut against UTEP. He had an eight-yard strip sack against Colorado that resulted in a Husker takeaway. McGahee had one quarterback hurry against Northern Iowa. McGahee totaled two tackles at Purdue. McGahee nearly had a strip sack at Ohio State, finishing with one tackle. He hit OSU quarterback Will Howard in the backfield and forced a fumble, but the ball rolled forward to the line of scrimmage, negating the sack. McGahee had one solo tackle against UCLA.

Willis McGahee IV was one of the top recruits in Florida as a standout linebacker in the Miami area. He was a two-time first-team all-state selection who was also a two-time first-team all-county pick. 

As a senior for Christopher Columbus High School, McGahee recorded 57 tackles with 16 sacks and nine tackles for loss. He had a nose for the ball with seven forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three pass breakups and three defensive touchdowns. McGahee also added 19 quarterback hurries. Previously, McGahee played for Palmetto High School in Miami, where he was an all-state and all-county performer.

McGahee was regarded as a three-star prospect, and he was ranked among the nation’s top 35 outside linebackers by ESPN.
