Played with both the New York Giants for four seasons, catching 29 balls for 315 yards and one touchdown.
As of 2006 White is ranked No. 22 on the Husker All-Time Yards Receiving Chart with 820 yards. White is also tied for No. 25 with Mark LeFlore and Brendan Holbein on the Husker All-Time Receptions chart with 47.
At Nebraska
Smashes Nebraska receiving records as a senior en route to First-Team All-America honors and repeat First-Team All-Big 8 accolades. White set multiple records as a senior: most catches in a game (8, TCU), most yards in a game (139, Colorado), most catches in a career (47), most yards in a career (820), most catches in a season (28, 1965), most yards in a season (458, 1965), longest pass reception and run (95, Colorado 1965).
White led the Big 8 in receiving his junior year and his 338 yards on 17 catches was one yard shy of the Nebraska record of 339 yards. White did set other records his junior year though, his 92-yard catch from Bob Churchich against Kansas set a Husker record. White’s only other TD reception of his junior campaign was a 56-yard catch against Oklahoma.
As a sophomore White was an alternate standout on the 1963 Big 8 Championship team.
Before Nebraska (Chadsey High)
Starred under Coach Irvin Petross and Floyd Groves, winning four letters in football and basketball and three in track and baseball.
