2023 (Senior)
Omar Brown played in all 12 games with eight starts in his final season. He tied for second on the team with 51 tackles while adding three tackles for loss, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception. An honorable-mention All-Big Ten selection, Brown was a key member of a Blackshirt unit that posted Nebraska's best rushing defense (92.9 yards per game), total defense (303.5 yards per game) and scoring defense (18.3 points per game) since the Huskers joined the Big Ten in 2011. NU ranked in the top 20 nationally in each of those three categories.

Brown made his 30th career start and first as a Husker at Minnesota, when he tied for the team lead with seven tackles and intercepted his first pass at Nebraska. Brown recorded five solo tackles at Colorado with one tackle for loss and a pass breakup. Against Northern Illinois, Brown made two tackles. He reeorded eight tackles against Louisiana Tech, his highest total as a Husker. Brown also forced a fumble against the Bulldogs. He recorded seven tackles against Michigan with a half tackle for loss. Brown totaled three tackles at Illinois. He had a pair of tackles against Northwestern. Brown started against Purdue and totaled four tackles, including a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss. He totaled two tackles at Michigan State. Brown started against Maryland and made a big impact with six tackles, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He also started at Wisconsin and recorded one tackle. Brown recorded four tackles agains tIowa in his final game.

2022 (Junior)
Brown played in every game in his first season at Nebraska. He had one tackle against both Northwestern and North Dakota. Brown's next tackle came in the win at Rutgers. He made his final tackle of the year at Iowa.

Before Nebraska (Minneapolis North HS/Northern Iowa)
Brown came to Nebraska after three seasons at Northern Iowa, where he played in 29 games and recorded 140 tackles with 13 pass breakups and eight interceptions. Brown was an All-American with the Panthers.

As a freshman at UNI in 2019, Brown was named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press and a first-team All-American by Phil Steele. The HERO Sports FCS Defensive Freshman of the Year and a first-team all-conference pick, he totaled 77 tackles, six interceptions and three fumble recoveries, ranking third in the FCS in fumble recoveries and fourth in interceptions. Brown helped Northern Iowa to the FCS quarterfinals in his freshman season.

In his second year, Brown started all seven games in an abbreviated spring schedule, finishing with 30 tackles, five pass breakups and one interception en route to honorable-mention all-conference accolades. Brown was also an honorable-mention all-conference pick in 2021, when he had 33 tackles, three breakups and an interception before suffering a season-ending injury.

Brown played his prep ball for Minneapolis North High School, where he was rated as the top cornerback recruit in Minnesota.

Personal
Omar was born on Oct. 12, 2000, and he is the son of Solana Anderson and Joseph Brown. He is majoring in child, youth and family studies, and is on track to graduate in December of 2023. He has volunteered at the Nebraska Football Road Race and local hospital visits.
