Jamar Mozee joined the Nebraska football staff in July of 2024, and he is in his first season as a senior football assistant.
An accomplished high school coach, Mozee came to Nebraska after a brief stint on Gus Malzahn’s staff at UCF as an offensive analyst.
Mozee was the head coach at Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North High from 2015 through the 2023 season. Mozee led the Broncos to four conference championships in the Suburban Gold and Suburban Silver conferences. Lee’s Summit North reached the Missouri Class 6 semifinals in 2021 and 2022 and advanced to the quarterfinals in 2023.
Overall, Mozee guided Lee’s Summit North to a 64-35 overall record and is the winningest coach in school history. The school had won only four games from 2012 to 2014 before his arrival. A three-time conference coach of the year, Mozee saw more than 140 of his players earn college scholarships following their prep careers. He coached five players who have earned conference player-of-the-year honors including Keyon Mozee, Trey Baker, Cayden Green, Williams Nwaneri and Isaiah Mozee.
Before serving as the Lee’s Summit North head coach, Mozee had experience as the school’s offensive coordinator and quarterback coach and was also an assistant coach at Park Hill South High School and William Chrisman High School. Mozee served as the athletic director and head football coach at Faith Academy Christian Schools from 2005 to 2007.
A standout running back at Blue Springs High School, Mozee was the two-time Missouri Player of the Year by USA Today and Gatorade. He began his collegiate career at Oklahoma and was part of the Sooners’ 2000 national championship team. He earned his degree in communication from Nicholls State University.
